Today’s Spin

 photo-4

What a great day and night last night.  Started out with a delish working breakfast at Landmarc of a spinach and mushroom egg white omelet and greens with Fit Journey’s VP – Michelle Newman – where we got to work and then POSSIBLY celebrated with a mimosa.

A "follow your dreams and make it happen" celebration.

A “follow your dreams and make it happen” celebration.

Then it was off to home to write up a new post on Uplift Studios and load some content for the LAUNCH OF THE SITE!!!

After that it was time for the pre-game Flywheel ride with Jesse Alexander and Michelle as my FPC (Fitness Partner in Crime). The Flywheel 2500 shirts came in (it means that you got 2500+ power points within the month) and they are gorg!  I got a Large, but the tank fits a touch small, so I probably won’t wear it for a while.  They are monthly shirts, so I’m pretty psyched to see what they look like and what size I get in the coming months 🙂

The ride was great, I came in fourth, though sometimes what I absolutely LOVE about FW is also what consumes my whole being during a ride.  The woman next to me were neck and neck and I wouldn’t have noticed, but we were also both on the torque board (it is a board that shows the ranking of anyone in class

that opts in).  So, I spent my class with my competitive persona in full force. Luckily, I was victorious, but the truth is it didn’t matter.  When I get into my competitive mindset, especially in FW, I just work harder. There is something about being on that board that makes me work even harder in class and, therefor, I have to be on that board every time.  Even when I don’t want to.  However, having the woman that I’m neck and neck with directly to my right and being able to check on her bike score (which I wouldn’t ever admit to haha) sort of took my being over 😀

Anyhow, excellent class.  Then off to a super yum sushi dinner at Haru with Michelle (apparently, we couldn’t get enough of each other yesterday) a quick glass of wine with my bff and her boyfriend and home to hang with the hubby (Kid was already asleep – sad).

So, excellent day overall.  One workout in, but I also walked around the city a bit.

How was your day?

xx

Julia
Is a successful NYC based makeup artist - you can see her work all over TV, in top magazines all over the world and she has been featured in the New York Times, Prevention Magazine and numerous other publications, she is the former beauty editor for Bloginity and owns a small boutique beauty business called Brush Beauty. She has had a few careers ranging from construction management to radio and everything in between, however, the constant passion in her life was always fitness. Even when she lost her way from it, she was always constantly motivated by athletes and anything movement oriented around her. She is the type of person who only gets star struck by people like Gabby Douglas, Matt Long, Pat Riley or Kerri Walsh and the thought of meeting any of them puts her stomach in little girly teenage knots. Favorite workouts: Bootcamps, Spinning, swimming and lifting alone with my headphone on.
