Oranges – A Super Fruit!

There’s nothing more refreshing than a juicy orange on a hot summer day

Why it’s a super food:

-Oranges are high in vitamin C which is an antioxidant that helps support a healthy immune system. Vitamin C also helps the body absorb other vitamins and nutrients.

-Oranges contain Folic Acid which helps aid brain development.

-Oranges are high in potassium which helps maintain the body’s electrolyte balance.

 Try this great summer salad:

1 orange

5 cups spinach leaves

1 cup sliced radishes

1/2 cup sliced almonds

1 can drained cannellini beans

Peel and separate orange.  Toss all ingredients together.  Serves 4.  You can add grilled chicken breast to add protein or to use as a main course.
