We here at Fit Journey have a love of garbanzo beans, also known as chickpeas.

Why it’s a super food:

-Garbanzo beans are an excellent source of fiber.  Two cups fulfill the daily recommended amount of fiber.

-Garbanzo beans contain tryptophan which may help you sleep better.

-Garbanzo beans are high in protein, and are great for vegetarians looking to get more protein in their diet.

-Garbanzo beans may help lower cholesterol.

Some ways to eat garbanzo beans:

-Toss into a salad to add more protein.

-Try as a spread or a dip with our hummus recipe.

-Serve as lunch or dinner with our baked falafel recipe!
