Cranberries are now in season – and they are a great super food to enjoy as part of your cold weather meals!
Why cranberries are a super food:
- Cranberries are packed with antioxidants and is an anti-inflammatory.
- Cranberries help prevent urinary tract infections.
- Cranberries may help increase your HDL (good) cholesterol levels.
- Cranberries have also been shown to help promote good oral health.
Here is a great cranberry and apple salad!
Ingredients:
10 ounces mixed salad greens
2 apples, sliced
3/4 cup cranberries
3/4 cup crushed walnuts
2 green onions, sliced
Directions:
Combine all ingredients. Toss with a 1/2 cup vinaigrette dressing if desired. Serves 8.
