Cantaloupe: A Super Food


This refreshing summer melon is not only delicious, but also nutritious!

Why it’s a super food:

  • Cantaloupe is almost 90% water, so it is perfect to help with hydration on hot summer days.  It is also low in calorie at about 50 calories per cup.
  • One cup of cantaloupe provides the total recommended daily value for vitamins A and C.
  • Cantaloupe is also packed with beta-carotene, which along with vitamin A can help fight wrinkles and other skin damage.

Try this great fruit salad to beat the summer heat!


1 cantaloupe

1 honeydew

2 cups strawberries

2 cups blueberries

1 banana

1 cup grapes

Directions: cut cantaloupe, honeydew and strawberries into bite sized pieces.  Slice banana.  Combine all ingredients and serve cold.
