Bananas a Superfood!


Bananas are a great portable snack, especially pre-workout!

Why it’s a super food:

-Bananas are high in potassium, which may help fight high blood pressure, strokes, and electrolyte deficiency.

-Bananas have 5 grams of fiber per serving, which may help lower cholesterol and maintain healthy blood sugar levels.  Try bananas in oatmeal for a healthy, high-fiber breakfast!

-Bananas a great for a quick energy boost, as they have twice the carbohydrates of an apple.

-Bananas are a great, natural antacid.

 Try this powerful banana smoothie breakfast:

2 whole bananas (best with brown flecks on the peel)

1/3 cup greek yogurt

1/2 cup cooked oatmeal

1/3 cup of almonds

2 cups of ice

Put all ingredients in a blender, ice goes in last.  Blend on high until smoothie thickens (about 30 seconds).  Enjoy!
