Ok, so as I wrote last week in my Getting Really Real post, it’s time to make that list. The one that says, no I am not allowed to consume you… period. Not the one that says, you are allowed these delicious things on cheat days or here and there as a treat. But, the one that say no mam, these are not to be consumed. Because as I stated, I am addicted to certain things and just cannot handle myself with them. So, here is the list…
- Any fried food – period
- Potato Chips (I am allowing myself for NOW to keep tortilla chips)
- Milk chocolate
Now, this is it for now and I am sure that at some point I will add more. But the above are the things that I am incapable of handling – especially the top three.
I also will be making pre-made trail mix and other snacks that I can take with me and eat so that I don’t get famished and seriously crave these things.
OK- so last week I found out that I got into the Nike Women’s Half Marathon in DC April 27th!!! SO EXCITED! I need this, a kick in the butt. I’ve really wanted to train in running for a while now and here is my chance. A half, 13.1 – it really doesn’t seem that bad at all. I mean, now I can maybe run 4-5 miles without wanting to jog in front of a car and beg to run me over, but in five months 13.1 should be cake and I’m excited. Ben got me awesome compression socks and a mask to wear for running in this frigid weather. Also, I will be running with my cousin Mandee’s team, which I am super excited about.
I have also been reading this book that is all about habits and how a lot of laziness/not working out and bad eating habits (not all), are really just habits that we have formed. Nothing more, nothing less. So, I have been super conscious about changing my habits. Really seeing how me eating when I’m bored or watching TV or me saying that I don’t want to go for a run – I would rather lay down or work on the computer, is all really all just habits. And, if I can start building new habits – say running after I get up or drop Lillie at school or finding something new to do with my hands while watching TV… or maybe sitting and reading a book instead. Making new habits may not be easy, but they are COMPLETELY do-able. I will definitely write more on this topic as I read more of the book – but I just find it all so fascinating and it really makes it easier for me to wrap my head around.
Anyhow, OK – the list is up and now it’s time to start killing it!!!
