Dr. Hyman’s Detox, Day Ten and Beyond

Whoa, I can’t believe I did it.  All ten days of the ten day detox fueled by Dr. Mark Hyman’s new book 10 Day Detox Diet.  The results, not only physically, but emotionally, have been incredible.  Learning that I can eat less and not be hungry, eat the right things and feel satisfied and excited to eat was just amazing.  I know many of you know I’m not about numbers, however, I know that many of you are and, with this detox, you are asked to follow your numbers.  Soooo… I am down  7.5 lbs and just over 3″ on my waist, 2.5″ on my hips and 3″ on my thighs!  Pretty incredible.  That being said I just feel incredible.

There is something about detoxing but eating, and eating incredible foods, I swear Dr. Hyman turned me into a legit chef (yes, most of my actual chef friends would laugh at me… so, maybe at least a line cook with aspirations haha).  But the foods were amazing, the community of other detoxers made this journey everything it should have been and more.

I was able to turn all of his non-veggie recipes into incredible veggie recipes and he ever has a great veggie/vegan guide on his site.  M absolute favorite recipes were definitely his super salad, which couldn’t be easier to make, his cauliflower soup, the grilled salmon with onion marmalade (made with tofu instead of salmon) and the coconut curry tofu.  I mean do those ever sound like a detox?  So incredibly good.  The morning smoothies are also so good.

So, here is the real question, what has happened now that the detox is over?  Well, I’ve added back in beans and a little wheat, but I’ve been starting my days with incredible smoothies, keeping to my salad or soup at lunch and cooking up some delish dinners.  I mean look at this incredible food shopping day I had today.  SOOOO GOOD!!!

Perfect Food Shopping Day

So many of you have asked about this detox and how to start it.  The book comes out at the end of the month, but you can easily pre-order it here:

I have to tell you that this detox changed my life.  It is a detox of the mind, body and soul and if you are looking for a restart, I would DEFINITELY do this instead of a juice detox or some crazy cabbage soup detox.

If you try it, you must let me know how you like it.

xx
