Day 2

Another completely silly pic.

Fit-Journey-Day-2So, today was a great day (almost to the end). I woke up and juiced and then had some eggs with Michelle (Fit Journey VP) who is in from AZ. Had some amazing work calls (REALLY exciting things in the works for FJ), worked all day on my computer at the new AND AWESOME coffee shop that opened up the block from me.

Got home around 5PM to go to pick Lillie up from school, got my work out clothes on for my 715 As One workout and went to pick lillie up at school where… she had a table drop on her poor little hand and I had to take her to urgent care to make sure it wasn’t broken. My little muffin.

So, she was in incredible spirits as almost always. Talking to everyone at the Dr’s office. Smiling, telling anyone that walked into the room that her Dr said no shots till she turns 11 (to make sure they knew). Thankfully, the Dr doesn’t think it is broken and we came home and iced a bit more.
Of course, I didn’t end up working out this evening, and that is fine. Sometimes, life throws you things that are outside of your control. Nothing is more important than my husband and daughter and I can’t allow myself to beat myself up for not working out today. By the time we left the Urgent Care, we were starved and grabbed sandwiches. Not the best move, but my head wasn’t really in the game. It happens. This is the thing, just because you have a few “bad moments” don’t let that deter you for the rest of the day or for the week. Don’t get into the mindset of “oh, I didn’t do this this day so this whole week or day is a loss” Get back on and be proud of yourself for stopping, realizing and resetting.

Maybe tonight I’ll hit some more squats, do some pushups and a burpee or two (thought I just ate dinner and the thought of a burpee makes me slightly ill) before bed just to get a little somethin’ somethin’ in (yes, I’m embarrassed for just writing somethin’ somethin’).

Tomorrow will bring good things because, shit, why shouldn’t they?

About Julia

Is a successful NYC based makeup artist - you can see her work all over TV, in top magazines all over the world and she has been featured in the New York Times, Prevention Magazine and numerous other publications, she is the former beauty editor for Bloginity and owns a small boutique beauty business called Brush Beauty. She has had a few careers ranging from construction management to radio and everything in between, however, the constant passion in her life was always fitness. Even when she lost her way from it, she was always constantly motivated by athletes and anything movement oriented around her. She is the type of person who only gets star struck by people like Gabby Douglas, Matt Long, Pat Riley or Kerri Walsh and the thought of meeting any of them puts her stomach in little girly teenage knots. Favorite workouts: Bootcamps, Spinning, swimming and lifting alone with my headphone on.
