Black Beans


There are far too many ways that one can eat black beans!  From a can, in a delish turkey chilli or, as I found out recently, they now have black bean pasta!

Why it’s a super food:

– It has 15 grams of protein in one cup with no saturated fats

– They boost brain power.  Thanks to anthocyanins, antioxidant compounds that have been shown to improve brain function, black beans can make your brain go! go! go!

– They are sodium free

– They are super cheap

A GREAT recipe with black beans

I ate this for dinner last night and it was PERFECTION!

Black bean pasta – gluten free, literally, the ingredients are organic black beans and water

Ground Turkey meat

Crushed canned tomatoes

What to do:

Cook turkey adding some spices of your liking to it

Add tomatoes to turkey pan and simmer together

In a separate pot, cook black bean pasta as per directions

Mix in a bowl and VOILA!
